Polite Grammar

I couldn't think of a title for this post- so I just combined the ideas I am writing about.  The other option was "NO MORE BUDGING!"

I have been seeing LOTS of  "Me and mom..." or "Me and Shannon..."  in the children's writing- and I decided that it is never to early to learn to use proper grammar. :) SO I taught the children to always put other people first in writing.  Then, as we had more of a discussion, I told them that it is polite to put other people first in life and in writing, for example, when we line up at the door, it is polite to let someone else in front of you rather that to yell, "HE BUDGED."

So, one of my little boys decided that our grammar rule should be that we don't budge in front of people in line or in our stories.   Sounds good to me if that's what works!

Thank you for visiting!
Happy Teaching,
Carolyn
